Inter.ACT Participatory Media Forum
Working hard on projects is what we do, but sometime ago we thought we'd like to look and see what was happening in the wider world of participatory media. The Arts Council helped us realise our ideas and in Dec 2009 we got together a great group of practitioners to spend 2½ days discussing our work, looking at common issues, the future, eating, laughing and enjoying the peace of Herefordshire at lovely Poulstone Court.

WHAT IS Inter.ACT?
Inter.ACT is a pilot Participatory Media Forum. The forum is a research and development project exploring how social innovation and participation using digital media can create social, sustainable and enterprise benefits. Arts Council-funded, the forum aims to support and promote it’s members.
IT'S ABOUT LEARNING, SUPPORT, NETWORKING & PROMOTION
The focus will be on organisations & individuals who use digital media (web, video, podcasts) and other visual techniques, and who take a participatory, collaborative approach to develop knowledge capital, deliver learning, education and capacity building agendas, create better public service design.

RESIDENCY
Organised by Rick and Julia Goldsmith at Catcher Media with support & facilitation from Alex Barclay (ABC Consultancy), Rupesh Shah and Melissa Sterry (Societás) , with preliminary research provided by Joanna Kinsella. The Residency offered Provocations, Case Studies, Workshops and a Plenary suggesting ways forward.

We plan to continue the network with these practitioners but also invite others with an interest in this field - practitioners, policy makers and commissioners alike to get involved. We've also been visiting film festivals, conferences and events. Great for us - great for future projects.
