IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT?
Drama and interviews explore issues around domestic abuse, healthy and unhealthy relationships.
A short drama shows Danny and Zoe's struggle to maintain a healthy relationship. With the pressures of having a child in their teens and adapting to life as a family, the situation descends into a cycle of domestic abuse until Zoe realises she needs it to stop. Danny has to reassess his behaviour and asks himself, "Is this what you want?" The film confronts the viewer with a fundamental question: will domestic abuse ever get you what you really want?
The young people participated in drama and film making workshops to support the development of the film. Student actors from Wolverhampton University play the main characters.
The film was developed through creative consultation with young people
who attended Mossley Youth Centre with support from IYPSS Youth Workers
and Family Support Assistants from Walsall Domestic Violence Forum.
