COMMUNITY

We like to document and help raise the profile of community projects and initiatives. A well-made video has the power to enable these organisations to get their message effectively out into the wider community via social media and hosting platforms such as YouTube.

We have also documented projects for evaluation purposes, capturing events and qualitative data through interviews with audience and participants. Commissioners and funders often comment on how these evaluation videos bring a project alive in a way that a simple report cannot.

Throughout the years have worked with Herefordshire Mind, Orchard Origins, The River Carnival, The Small Woods Association, The Herefordshire Wildlife Trust, The Waterworks Museum, The Friends of Castle Green, The Green Wood Centre, Caring For God’s Acre, Herefordshire Campaign for Rural England, FSC Bishops Wood and The West Midlands Society of Chief Librarians, to name a few.

Our featured project (above) was for the community-interest company, Orchard Origins. It was a showcase for their work with comments from the team and mental health service-users, from Herefordshire MIND, who had benefitted from working with the organisation.

We’ve also supported Hereford’s River Carnival since its sun-drenched inception in 2014. It’s a challenge as there’s always so much happening! Watch our River Carnival videos.

Another type of project we love doing is typified by Kington’s Playful Landscapes: Childhood memories and experiences throughout the years. It’s an affectionate film bringing together primary school-children with members of the older generation to talk about play in Kington’s surroundings.

The Small Woods Association commissioned Light is Life to preserve on video a distinctive approach to coppicing developed in North Worcestershire, which is being kept alive by two enthusiasts.

A selection of our community-based films can be seen here.
