THINK OUTSIDE THE METAL BOX

Think Outside the Metal Box is a series of films encouraging independent travel for young people aged 11-16 years of age. They explore sustainable travel: cycling, public transport, walking and car sharing. The films were conceived with, and feature Year 10 drama students from Walsall Academy.

Although concerned about the environment, one of the biggest themes which came through in the workshops with the young people was how moving away from dependence on car use allows greater freedom and independence.

The films have been shown in schools and used as part of travel programmes across the Black Country.  Created for Centro (now West Midlands Combined Authority) & Walsall Council.
