Cultural Recovery Fund

We are delighted to announce we have been successful in our bid to the DCMS Cultural Recovery Fund and have been awarded £31,600 via the National Heritage Lottery Fund, to help secure our ongoing sustainability, partnerships and working with our communities, in the county and beyond. We had some great support from our project partners and advocates which really helped us to get across why our work is important and significant to the heritage sector. Most of the time we are focussed intently on project delivery so we don’t always have the time to reflect on our work, this enforced slowing down which the pandemic has brought some valuable time to be able to look back at what we have achieved and to take this into new projects.

“Catcher Media have made a vital contribution, not just in our county but to the heritage, culture and arts of this country as a whole,” said the Rt Hon Jesse Norman, Member of Parliament for Hereford & South Herefordshire.

“Our collaborations (with Catcher) have been hugely valuable in the cultural life of Herefordshire and the wider region, providing access to communities’ cultural history while also supporting the development of skills and improving access by innovative digital approaches,” said Jon Chedgzoy, Museums, Libraries & Archives Manager, Herefordshire Council.

“Catcher Media brought their extensive experience in the telling of stories to bear on the collection and immediately set out a clear plan that would bring the multiple threads of the project into one compelling narrative. Their approach to the five year campaign and its enormous impact on Herefordshire’s cultural consciousness are emblematic of Catcher Media’s value as instigators.  The powerful and beautifully produced films reached huge, enthusiastic audiences that crossed generations and brought the recent yet remote past to life,” commented Rhys Griffith, Senior Archivist, Herefordshire Archive and Records Centre.
