Last weekend we recorded Wye July events that happened in Leominster and Hay-on-Wye to highlight the plight of River Wye and its tributaries such as the Lugg, and its pollution from agricultural run-off. Experts have warned that action needs to be taken within two years if the river has any chance of recovery, to stop the high levels of phosphates leaching from chicken manure from the many intensive poultry units in Herefordshire and Powys entering the water courses . You can see a short promotional video for the event and a full list of talks we recorded at Leominster and Hay on the Save the Wye YouTube page.
