EASYSRE: RELATIONSHIPS AND SEX EDUCATION

The award-winning EasySRE website offers teachers a vast array of resources at their fingertips. It features high-quality films that use drama, animation and interviews to explore Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and well-being. These films cater for students from 4 -18 years of age, as well as for students with SEND and parents/carers. They were all made with the full involvement of students, health professionals and teachers from Walsall over the course of 15 years.

Aimed at specific key stages and accompanied by lesson plans and signposting information, all of the films have been successfully road-tested in schools and are designed to help teachers and health workers deliver their sessions with confidence. Topics include growing up, puberty, mental health, domestic abuse, healthy relationships, sex and the law, contraception and online grooming.

“It’s absolutely brilliant, so relevant and up-to-date. We’ve been looking for something to replace our current video and I was interested in your package that includes the lesson plans and resources too. That it is NHS-approved is a massive bonus.” — Emma Teacher, Hampshire.

“With relationships and sex education becoming compulsory in Primary and Secondary schools, the relaunch of the EasySRE website is very timely. I want to encourage teachers and health workers to sign up and find out what’s on offer.” Carol Williams, Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Lead, Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust

“Absolutely stunning” — Seona Baker, Education Safeguarding Co-ordinator, Walsall Council

Q: How can I get a film and teaching resource pack?
In the Walsall area, teachers, youth workers and health professionals can stream films and download resources free of charge after becoming a member. Outside of Walsall, the Members Area can be accessed after signing up to the website and individual films can be purchased at low-cost.

EasySRE is the result of a long-term collaboration between Catcher Media, Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust’s Carol Williams (Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Lead) and Walsall Council.
