‘Education is a tool for self-realisation’ said one PLAN representative. The project which gave rise to Zvakwana, Zvakwana! (Enough Is Enough) was featured on BBC News, Harare.
The participatory video project Catcher Media made remotely with girls and young women from Zimbabwe has been premiered in Zimbabwe. The PLAN event, where the film was shown, was given national coverage on Zimbabwean TV.

The project highlights ways in which education and career opportunities are blocked for young women and the video is part of an awareness-raising campaign and research programme to encourage a systemic change that enables girls and young women to access education, regardless of whether they have disabilities, caring responsibilities or young children.

See our other blog for more details of the project.
The SAGE project, funded by UK aid from the UK government, will enable 21,760 adolescent girls, who are highly marginalised and out-of-school, to improve their learning outcomes in literacy and numeracy and transition to education, training or employment. A consortium, led by Plan International UK and including faith-based, academic and private sector actors, will focus on providing high-quality, accelerated, non-formal education in 132 accessible, girl-friendly community-based Learning Hubs.
