Major new project for Herefordshire

Hereford’s old livestock market is the stimulus for an exciting new heritage project which brings people together from all over the county to share stories, share memories, get some training, get involved, make a film, and celebrates our shared agricultural history.

‘Chewing the Cud: Memories of hereford’s old livestock market’, the inaugural project from Catcher Media Social Community Interest Company (CIC) is really gearing up now. We’ve had one event in which we met volunteers and we’ve got three training sessions coming up in the following two weeks. Trainees will learn about research, social media techniques, film-making and oral history interview techniques. Watch the full film and many interviews here

The project was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, together with Herefordshire Council’s Museum Service, Cargill Community Partnership, NFUM Community Giving Fund and supported by Hereford Market Auctioneers, Herefordshire Lore and Herefordshire Council’s Archive Service.
