The Premiere of ‘TO BOLDLY GO’

‘To Boldly Go’ premiered at Tamworth Odeon on  Friday 17th June at 10.45am and it was a huge success! The film aims to help young people with learning difficulties have the confidence to use public transport on their own – have a look at our blog post about the project.

The cast, students and teachers at Two Rivers School Tamworth, arrived at the premiere in style, stepping out of a bus (an apt choice of transport…watch the film and you’ll know!) – kindly provided by Arriva – onto a plush red carpet no less!

The cast were met by a large crowd and were signing autographs left, right and centre. These students were suddenly movie stars and they sure acted the part. Beaming but taking everything in their stride, the cast gave interviews to the media ( including BBC Midlands Today) and an Oscars ceremony was held.

BBC Midlands Today posted a video of the premiere, which shows clips from the film and interviews with the cast who describe the warm reception they received from their audience. WATCH HERE.

‘Sprouting Zombies’ was premiered alongside ‘To Boldly Go’. This was a behind-the-scenes film made by Media Studies students from the school, to help learn the skills needed and processes involved in creating a film.

And in true Oscars-style, we’d like to say a huge thank you to the Tamworth Odeon, Arriva, Staffordshire County Council, The Department of Transport, BBC Midlands, and – most of all – thank you to all the students and teachers at Two Rivers. It’s been an absolute pleasure and privilege working with you all. Thank you.
