Hereford College of Arts at 170 years. Incredible but true! Added to that, it is one of only four art colleges in England. As part of the 170 years celebrations, Catcher Media were commissioned by HCA to find to four ex-students and tutors with a story to tell about the college and how their arts education had helped to shape their life and careers. It wasn’t on the scale of our Derek Evans’ video oral history project but in the course of of our search to find the right four people to interview, we spoke to some fascinating people and found out a lot about the college. We’ve added a few short extracts from the videos on this page but be sure to check out the full interviews with Judy Giles, Shona Warnes, Murf (from beefy Boys) and Mark Houghton, representing HCA from the 1950s to the present-day, on HCA’s own website: https://www.hca.ac.uk/170-at-hca#videos
NB: We plan to have subtitled versions of the full interviews, very soon, on our ever-popular Herefordshire Life Through A Lens website. Watch this space.
