REDISCOVER

Working with Catcher Media, sixth form drama students from Walsall Academy made a film about Bloxwich’s heritage. The students were stunned at the rich tapestry of stories and facts they unearthed from Walsall’s Local History Centre and historian Stuart Williams.

The student’s exciting and polished film brings the heritage of Bloxwich back to life, and includes interviews from Bloxwich residents and Noddy Holder of glam-rock band, Slade who used to live and rehearse in Bloxwich. Topics include: Industry, music, Pat Collins and the fair, cinema, famous figures, childhood and, of course, ghost stories.

Watch all films HERE.

Alongside the main film there are 17 short films, including material with Noddy Holder that didn’t make it into the main film (about music, Slade, Bloxwich fairs), full interviews conducted with older people from The Stan Ball Centre, a blooper reel, behind-the scenes, and Jayde’s lovely version of Slade’s ‘Cum on Feel the Noize’.
